The Kinship Scholarship is intended to assist AFOA Alberta Aboriginal members' children and grandchildren in pursuing post-secondary education in an approved university or college certificate, diploma or degree program. Applicants are accepted throughout the year. This program is open to all programs and is designed to address barriers that Indigenous learners face in pursuit of post-secondary education. The award will cover tuition and travel to a maximum of $1,000.00 per scholarship. One award is available per year.
CRITERIA
- Applicant must be aboriginal.
- The applicant must be the child or grandchild of an AFOA Alberta member.
- The AFOA Alberta/AFOA Canada membership must be current.
- Applicant must be pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree program at the post-secondary level.
- Applicant must attest to financial need.
