Introduction to Accounting, AFOA AB Learning Center, Enoch, AB. 

This 4-day accounting course is designed for those working in the accounting area who need a refresher or greater understanding of the overall accounting process, and for managers and senior staff who work with finance or accounting staff. This course is ideal if you are planning to take an introductory accounting course. The course is based on material developed by a leading Canadian business school.  The material will cover an overview of basic financial accounting statements, the balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statement. In addition, the principles of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) will be introduced. The complete accounting cycle and more advanced topics such as depreciation, goodwill, leases and retained earnings will be reviewed. The course will introduce basic finance concepts, including cost, revenue, and volume information for long-range planning. This course is an ideal introduction to accounting. Course cost is $155.00 for members and $395.00 for non-members. Please note that this course is unsuitable if you have taken an introductory accounting level at the post-secondary level. Lunch is provided, and a certificate of completion will be provided to those who attend and complete the program. Maximum number of participants is 25. Doors open at 8:45 am and sessions start at 9:00 am.
