Critical Thinking is designed to improve a student's ability to analyze and evaluate the kinds of arguments and theories.

This is a three-credit course in critical thinking is designed to improve a student's ability to analyze and evaluate common arguments and theories and is offered through AFOA Alberta and Athabasca University. This is a required course to satisfy the requirements for a Bachelor of Commerce degree (all streams). Content will include: formal and informal logic, logical reasoning and common fallacies and will help students improve their own cases and to support these conclusions. Sessions are January 27-29, February 24-26 and March 24-26. The sessions will be conducted at the AFOA Alberta learning center at Enoch, AB. The cost for members is $500.00, non-members is $885.00 (including the cost for membership). This is a pre-registration; additional registration forms and pre-payment are required. This program requires pre-reading and individually paced work, including graded assignments outside of the classroom as well as exams. An electronic textbook will be provided, if you wish a printed text, you must purchase it separately. Please plan to spend a minimum of 15 hours per week outside of course weekends to complete work and assignments.  You will require a computer and internet connection for this program. This course is part of the Bachelor of Commerce program. Cellphone use will be restricted during classroom instruction. Scholarships are available for this program.
