AFOA AB and CPA Western School of Business- Indigenous Accounting Program Pilot
CPA Western School of Business and AFOA Alberta have partnered to provide a pilot program that includes Introductory Financial Accounting (IFA) and CPA PEP Core 1 Module in a way that addresses barriers to the profession for Indigenous learners.
We're excited to share that the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) and the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Alberta (AFOA) have joined forces to create two courses for Indigenous learners. These courses will be based on the regular CPA certification program but will be tailored to meet the unique needs and expectations of Indigenous learners and incorporate Indigenous culture and context in the program. Courses will include in-person and online learning with an Indigenous cohort.
The courses will be developed, taught, and supported by Indigenous subject matter experts, instructors, and facilitators who understand the culture and background of Indigenous learners. This means that you'll be learning from people who have had similar experiences to you and can relate to your journey.
We're committed to providing a learning experience that is inclusive, supportive, and respectful of Indigenous culture and history.
We're excited for you to join us on this journey, and we look forward to supporting you as you work toward achieving your goals. These programs are offered in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Funding may be available for eligible learners. Details of this exciting new program can be found at CPA Western School of Business and by clicking on the link below.
