Mutual Accountability Session ( Jun 12, 2017 )

One day session on mutual accountability and transparency. Registration is limited to those receiving a letter from AFOA Alberta. Please make sure you register for the correct date and location.

This one day session will address a number of key questions:

  • How would you define the current federal governments accountability to First Nations?

  • What are your thoughts on how FN’s can be transparent with the financial information to their members and the Canadian public?

  • How can the federal government be more transparent in its relationship with First Nations?

  • What standards of financial information should FNs be able to follow?

  • What can First Nations financial reporting to the federal government be made more streamlined and efficient?

The session will be faciliated by AFOA Alberta and will be a joint discussion between First Nations and INAC. Registration is limited in each session to ensure that participants have an opportunity to share their ideas.Travel costs will be covered for one participant per First Nation. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
