Indigenous Learners Gathering - Learners (Students Only) - Pre-Registration ( Mar 23, 2018 ~ Mar 25, 2018 )

This three-day program is a unique gathering of indigenous post-secondary institution learners, post-secondary institution instructors and administrators to learn, share and understand collectively. Learners only.

This program will combine lectures, focus groups and case studies to contextualize the learners' academic studies and to foster a supportive environment of peers and to provide tools to help ensure the sucess of their individual academic programs. Program themes include: individual resiliency developed through indigenous culture, understanding and addressing challenges through a multi-disciplinary approach and addressing social challenges through a management lens. This progam is open to all indigenous learners, full-time and part-time in post-secondary undergraduate (bachelor) or graduate degree programs. This includes the fields of arts, sciences, business, law, education and social work. The program will incorporate a case study challenge with multi-disciplinary teams drawn from each area of study. Accomodation subsidies are available for eligible students. Please see attachments for additional details and program agenda. There is no cost to attend. This program is offered by AFOA Alberta and the CPA Education Foundation. Learners must complete an application for hotel subsidy. In addition, an on-site ethcial conduct form must be completed for each learner. Details will be forwarded on pre-registration. Learners must make their own accomodations and will not be reimbursed for travel. Registration will be confirmed when full application is completed. Registration will be limited. Pre-registration does not guarantee participation.
