Athabasca University and AFOA Alberta Management Program - Introduction to Marketing ( Sep 14, 2018 )

This course is part of the bridge program (formerly CAFM Program) and Bachelor of Commerce program offered in collaboration with the Athabasca University. This course is the Introduction to Marketing.

This program is a collaboration between AFOA Alberta and Athabasca University. The course is a required course for the bachelor program. The course will be conducted online and in-person, September 14-16, October 12-14 and November 12-14, 2018 at the AFOA Alberta Learning Center. This course will introduce you to marketing concepts, frameworks and institutions. The content will help you understand the different steps of the marketing proces to build succesful relationships with your clients. Topics will include: creating and capturing client value, marketing strategy, market segementation, targeting and positioning, advertising and promotions, life-cycle strategies, and marketing channels. These skills are pertinent for those providing services and products to First Nation members and communities. Evaluation will include assingments, as well as exams. You must have a laptop for the course. Office 365 will be available to students. Students participating in the CAFM credit will be transferred to Athabasca University and will be registered as students with the university. Detailed information will be provided at the first session. This is a university credit course.
