This webinar focuses on the recent changes for First Nations Government reporting and reinforces the relationship between accountability and reporting. This session will help to develp an understanding of the high level reporting requirements of First Nations and will lead into webinars scheduled for March 8th and 9th on Reducing Audit Fees. There is not cost to participate in the webinar.

The Chief and Council Governance Conference focuses on important governace issues for current Chief and Council. Difficult decisions and conflicting interests often create conflict. Conflict is an important issue that must be managed effectively. The conference will focus on Conflict Management, including: understanding conflict, conflict triggers, personal conflict style, approaches to manage conflict, mediation and negotiation. The session will include many examples drawn from the experiences of Chiefs and Councils. The session will be conducted at the Marriott at River Cree, Enoch, AB, March 1st and 2nd, 2012.  Registration cost is $75.00 for members, $100.00 for non-members.

The Conflict Management Workshop will focus on Conflict Management, including: understanding conflict, conflict triggers, personal conflict style, approaches to manage conflict, mediation and negotiation. The session will include many examples drawn from the experiences from First Nations and aboriginal organizations. The session will be conducted at the Marriott at River Cree, Enoch, AB, March 1st and 2nd, 2012. Registration cost is $75.00 for members, $100.00 for non-members. First Nations' Technical Skills Workshop in Siksika - This workshop is designed to improve and enhance your basic spreadsheets skills and will introduce participants to more intermediate functionality through the use of examples using budgets, multi-deparment master budgets, variance reporting and data sorting. Participants must bring a laptop with Excel 2007. This program is excellent course to prepare participants for Budgeting basics at the Fiscal Institute. The cost for this program is $75.00 for members, $100.00 for non-members.

Webinar - How to Reduce Your Audit Fees - this 2 part webinar (March 8th and March 9th) will focus on how you can reduce your audit fees. The session will be delivered by the Managing Partner of a public accounting firm. The sessions will be 50 minutes in length. There is no cost to participate in the webinar. Participants may will join the teleconference and webinar and will have opportunities to ask questions. Details will be sent to all registered participants with additional information on how to join the session.

The workshop is limited to 25 current Chiefs and Councilors. Extensive hands-on and group excercises. $75.00 per registrant, breakfast and lunch will be provided. Members and non-members welcome. This workshop focuses on conflict - if you have to deal with conflict, you should attend this session. The workshop is designed for all levels of employees, from front line staff to senior administrators.
